World MasterCard Fashion Week has announced its lineup, which will feature a mix of new and returning designers all presenting their SS’16 collections.

The week-long event will return to David Pecaut Square, in downtown Toronto, from October 19 to 23, 2015. Some of the new faces at World MasterCard Fashion Week include Korean label Hong Kiyoung, creator of Canadian-made embellished shirts, Jacqueline Piron, menswear label Kollar Clothing and the much anticipated (among pedestrian fashion folk) No. 99 Wayne Gretzky Collection.

No Toronto Fashion Week—ahem, World MasterCard Fashion Week—would be complete without a solid roster of WMCFW veterans taking to the catwalk with their latest designs. Among those returning to David Pecaut are Paris-meets-Montreal menswear duo 3. Paradis, lawyers-turned-designers power couple Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow, with their latest from Bustle, Toronto’s design wunderkind Sid Neigum, Ashtiani, Stephan Caras, Pink Tartan, Mackage, Judith + Charles, Zoran Dobric and more.

WMCFW-homepage-imageIn addition to the stand-alone presentations, multiple group shows will grace the tents again this season. First up, the popular 2015/16 Mercedes-Benz Start Up National Final—a nation-wide challenge that awards lucky designers with startup funds to help further their Canadian fashion business. This year, the finalists include UNTTLD from Montreal, Beaufille (formerlly Chloé comme Parris), S.P Badu, Narces, Leinad Beaudet and Laura Siegel.

Also taking to the catwalk for a group presentation will be The Aussie Takeover show, featuring Serpent & The Swan, SIG The Label, Illias, Casper & Pearl and Hayley Elsaesser; the RED: Emerging Designer Showcase featuring Feyanki Law, VANDAL, Jing Zhao, Doreen To, Jing.Z, Jiaxin Xu, Ruby Tsai and Wanwei Huang; and the ACCESS accessories showcase will showcase numerous Canadian accessories designers, including Alan Anderson, Beaufille, Curchara, Christian Daniel Tang, Dean Davidson, Dolorous, Juma, Opelle, T&K and The Leather Atelier.

IMG has been running World MasterCard Fashion Week for several seasons now—and each season the shows get bigger and better. It’s time for NYFW to share some of the spotlight.
